About Amerikanska Gymnasiet, Halmstad The school is located on the Halmstad University campus. In the fall, the school will enter its fifth academic year with approximately 160 students studying in the Natural Sciences, Economics, or Social Sciences programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching team with a strong community spirit. About the Position As a career advisor, you will work with individual coaching and guidance for our students. You handle enrollment of new students, follow up on our school waiting list, and maintain contact with new students and guardians. You are responsible for continuous follow-up of students' exam prognosis in each year group, handle reporting to CSN, and manage other tasks included in the career advisor role. You work closely with the school's student wellbeing team in preventive and developmental work. The student wellbeing team includes the school nurse, counselor, special educator, and principal. The role also includes ongoing school administration and work in various administrative systems such as Meitner, StudyBee, and Google Drive. As a career advisor, you primarily work from the front desk where you conduct most of your conversations with students. You will also have access to a back office for certain administrative tasks. This is a 100% temporary position until June 2027. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Your Profile We are looking for you who are educated as a career advisor with a diploma, and preferably someone who also has at least a couple of years of experience working as a career advisor. It is also an asset if you have worked with high school students. You have experience coaching and guiding students, as well as experience working closely with the student wellbeing team. You are expected to have good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and you have stable digital competence. You have a professional approach in meetings with students, colleagues, and guardians, and good insight into people's different circumstances. You find it easy to collaborate and create good working relationships with a coaching and mentoring approach. As a person, you are solution-oriented, unpretentious, and flexible. You see opportunities and always lead challenges and problems toward solutions. You have a thoroughly positive approach.
