About the Workplace At the Faculty of Social Sciences Administration Office, Administration S, there are approximately 70 employees, located in the Allhelgonskolan building, in the heart of Lund. We provide qualified administrative support to faculty leadership and faculty institutions in education, management support, research, HR, finance, and communication. The department is responsible for planning and coordinating international student exchanges and faculty-wide education and courses at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. The department provides advice and support on internationalization matters to faculty leadership and institutions, and proposes strategic directions for the faculty's internationalization work. Your main responsibilities: • Staff the student reception desk • Answer general student-related questions, both at the reception and via email • Handle email and manage shared mailboxes for the International Affairs Department • Issue and manage certificates for students • Create and publish content on our social media channels • Provide temporary support and assistance at student events • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed Additional duties may arise, and your responsibilities may vary throughout the year depending on current needs. During the summer, the work primarily consists of monitoring and responding to incoming emails. The reception is open during term time, three hours, four times per week. You will be two receptionists sharing work shifts between you. Qualifications To be eligible for employment as a student employee, you must be actively pursuing studies at the undergraduate or advanced level at the Faculty of Social Sciences and have not yet completed your degree. Requirements for employment: - You must be admitted and in your second year of one of the following programs: ○ Master Programme in Politics and Society of the Contemporary Middle East, ○ Master of Science in Development Studies, ○ Master of Science in Global Studies, ○ Master of Science in Social Scientific Data Analysis, or ○ Master of Science in Social Studies of Gender - You must be on track with your studies We are looking for someone who is communicative, organized, and service-oriented, and who can work independently and take initiative. Additional qualifications for the position: • Experience working at Lund University or another university/college • Experience working in the service industry Other Information We are seeking two student receptionists to hire. The positions are temporary for the period September 2, 2026 to June 6, 2027 (or by agreement) and are for 15% of full-time employment. Regulations regarding student employment as amanuensis are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
