Description
Are you a student nearing completion of your studies in computer science, interaction and design, or systems science? ITS is looking for two to eight IT students from Umeå University who want to work part-time with us!
ITS supports higher education and socially important research through IT. We believe that knowledge and facts help make our society better. Together we work so that researchers, students, and teachers – locally and nationally – can get their important work done.
We are located in newly renovated premises in the House of Knowledge at Umeå University. Here we support each other when needed and we appreciate diversity and new perspectives. ITS, with our 250 employees, is a large and stable employer that offers many opportunities for career development. We work flexibly and goal-oriented in cross-functional teams where you meet many wonderful colleagues.
Job Responsibilities
As an employee at ITS as a student (amanuensis), you will get a personal mentor from ITS, the opportunity to combine studies with work experience, and a monthly salary. The part-time job suits you if you want to work as a developer in a development team in parallel with your part-time studies.
Your work tasks will vary and may include participation in everything from operations and development teams to pure UX teams. We use a technology stack that includes .Net, Java, Windows, and Linux. Most of our teams follow basic agile principles.
The work involves working both independently and in groups.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
Is a student in an educational program at Umeå University and has completed courses of at least 60 higher education credits.
The field of study should be computer science, interaction and design, or systems science.
A merit requirement is that you have worked summer and/or part-time at ITS.
We see that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. Good collaboration and initiative skills are qualities we consider self-evident in applicants.
Everyone will be challenged according to their abilities and welcomed as one of the team.
Terms
The amanuensis position refers to 10–40% of a full-time position. Students admitted to education at basic or advanced level at a university or university college are eligible to be employed as an amanuensis. Employment must be carried out in parallel with studies.
Working hours are scheduled on weekdays within office hours on weekdays, by agreement. Salary is paid according to the current local salary agreement for amanuensis positions at Umeå University.
For amanuensis positions, employment can be for a maximum of one year at a time, but a total of no more than three years. We strive for continuity and would like to see you work as an amanuensis for more than one term. The employment runs between 2026-08-31 through 2027-01-17, or by agreement.
