Ref: 20261145 Job Duties We are seeking three student assistants interested in participating in and contributing to development work in the Environmental and Occupational Health Department. We are now offering three different assignments with different focuses. Development of Work Methods for Radon Supervision As a student assistant, you will be tasked with reviewing the current approach to radon supervision in residential buildings and developing proposals for improving supervision. In this assignment, you will compare our work methods with those of other municipalities, and investigate the potential for increased efficiency through digitalization and AI. The assignment will give you experience in development work within public administration as well as the opportunity to contribute to future work methods in the occupational health field. Therefore, it is important that you are analytical, curious, and have an interest in development issues. You are comfortable working independently, but also have good collaboration skills and a structured approach to work. Strengthened Advice and Collaboration As a student assistant, you will be tasked with contributing to enhanced advisory services within the construction, demolition, and waste sectors. The assignment will provide you with broad experience in government development, environmental law supervision, sustainability issues, and practical project work. With the support of a mentor, you will work independently on tasks such as mapping current supervision processes and advisory methods, conducting meta-analyses of work methods in other municipalities and industries, and analyzing how supervision and building permit processes can be coordinated. The results will form the basis for recommendations and new work methods. Therefore, it is important that you are someone who enjoys collaborating and contributing to shared learning. Development Project in Energy Supervision The Environmental Administration is conducting a development project in energy supervision aimed at further developing energy supervision with new methods and focus areas, strengthening internal collaboration, and meeting increased demands in the field. The project covers energy supervision at selected facilities, for example, properties, care facilities, wastewater treatment plants, and vehicle industry businesses. In the project, you will, among other things, have the opportunity to participate in the development of handler support tools, guidelines and assessment criteria, environmental monitoring within energy and climate requirements, and the creation of information materials for facility operators. Therefore, it is important that you are someone who can communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, adapt information to different target audiences, and make complex issues clear and educational. As a student assistant with us, you contribute with solutions that create value for the organization. You present your improvement suggestions to the department's management group. As a student assistant in Malmö City, you have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge alongside your studies through assignments within our operations. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and salary. The working hours can correspond to approximately 10-15 hours per week. The Environmental Administration is located in centrally situated premises in Malmö. Qualifications The student assistant program is directed at you if you have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the entire assignment period. You are likely studying environmental science or environmental and occupational health, or alternatively another natural science, technical, or environment-oriented higher education program. As a person, you are analytical, curious, and structured. You are driven, have a willingness to learn new things, and are solution-oriented. You are also independent and take initiative. About the Workplace The department consists of approximately 60 employees, distributed across one unit for occupational health and two for environmental supervision. The position is placed in one of the environmental supervision units. The unit works primarily with business operators in industry.
