Ref: 20261447 Job Responsibilities We are seeking a student assistant to analyze Malmö Konsthall's work with the activity Novel Club + Art, a multi-year collaboration with Lindängen Library. The activity involves the art hall and library jointly selecting two short texts, usually short stories, thematically connected to an ongoing exhibition at the art hall. Two meetings per exhibition are held where the visit begins with a tour of the exhibition followed by a joint discussion of the text using a special model. The meetings are open for anyone to register for, but many participants return year after year. The student assistant's task is to conduct an analysis of the effects of Novel Club + Art. The assignment includes participation in planning and evaluation, observational participation during meetings, and interviews with participants. The assignment results in a report used for activity development, annual reports within the activities, and knowledge dissemination in the field of collaboration between art halls and libraries. The analysis may include aspects such as describing and analyzing the activity, group interaction, and shared meaning-making. How participants experience the activity, what effects arise—such as perspective-taking, engagement and participation, and opportunity for reflection. Social aspects and perspectives from the research field of culture and health may be included. Please note that some evening work is required as two meetings take place in the evening. As a student assistant at Malmö City, you have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge in parallel with your studies through assignments within our activities. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and salary. Working hours can correspond to approximately 10-15 hours per week. Qualifications The student assistant program is directed at you if you have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the entire assignment period. You are studying cultural studies/intermedial studies, art history, or literary studies, preferably with an interest in both visual art and literature. It is an advantage if you have experience with participatory observation and/or interviews. As a person, you are analytical, thorough, and have a good ability to express yourself in writing. Swedish is a requirement as the activity is conducted in Swedish and interviews will take place in Swedish.
