About the Position Internationales Engelska Skolan Kista has a strong school culture with clear routines, high expectations, and positive relationships between students and staff. At IES Kista, we work together to create a safe, calm, and positive learning environment where students have the best possible conditions to develop both academically and socially. The school currently has approximately 670 students in grades F–9 and around 70 employees. We are now seeking two committed and confident student assistants for the upper secondary level who want to support students throughout the school day and contribute to a stable and inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities As a student assistant, you will work closely with a student throughout the school day and help create conditions for the student to succeed both socially and academically. You will support the student during lessons, transitions, breaks, and other parts of the school day, and when needed, during after-school activities as well. You will be an important adult in the student's daily life and work closely with teachers, after-school staff, student health services, and guardians. The role requires patience, flexibility, and a calm and clear approach. You need to be able to adapt your support based on the student's needs while contributing to structure, safety, and positive relationships. At IES Kista, we work with shared routines and close collaboration between different staff groups. We are therefore seeking someone who enjoys working in a team and who shares our conviction that clarity, relationships, and high expectations help students succeed. We are looking for someone who: - Has experience working with children or young people - Has experience with or interest in working with students with ADHD or other support needs - Is calm, responsible, and solution-focused - Has an easy time building good relationships with students - Is flexible and can adapt your support based on situation and need - Enjoys collaborating and communicating with different professions - Has good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written It is a merit if you have: - Experience working in school or after-school settings - Education or training in areas such as ADHD, pedagogy, conflict management, or communication skills - Experience with low-arousal approaches or work with accommodations and special support Personal Qualities We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
