Strategic Buyer for Technology Company

ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Strategic Buyer, you'll become part of a team responsible for strategic procurement of technical components for products used in, among other applications, aerospace and marine industries. Your main focus will be on cable assemblies, connectors, and related components, where you'll have commercial responsibility for a number of strategically important suppliers. In this role, you'll work closely with product development, product management, and other internal functions to ensure competitive and long-term supplier solutions. You'll be involved from the development phase and sourcing through agreements, supplier monitoring, and further development of collaboration throughout the product's lifecycle. The role involves many touchpoints and suits you if you enjoy combining strategic work with driving concrete business matters forward. Since you'll also participate in technical discussions with development and suppliers, an interest in technology is an important part of the role. RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive strategic sourcing and procurement activities for technical components Manage commercial relationships with selected strategic suppliers Negotiate, develop, and monitor commercial agreements Build and develop long-term supplier relationships Ensure competitive supplier solutions for development projects and programs Collaborate with R&D and other internal functions on technology, cost, and supplier selection Monitor supplier performance and handle escalated supplier issues Analyze the supplier market and contribute insights to strategic decisions When needed, participate in projects related to, for example, make-or-buy analyses and establishing supplier chains in new markets WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU WITH: 3-7 years of experience in strategic procurement and sourcing Experience in negotiating and developing commercial agreements Experience in independently driving and developing supplier relationships Good commercial understanding and interest in contract and business matters Technical interest and comfort discussing technical issues with, for example, developers and suppliers Experience making decisions and driving matters forward even when not all information is available Good system experience and familiarity with business or procurement systems Fluent spoken and written Swedish and English, as both languages are used in daily work It is an advantage if you have: A university degree or master's degree in engineering or other relevant academic education Experience from an industrial or technology-driven company Experience in strategic procurement in a technical environment Experience in procurement or technology related to cable assemblies, connectors, or similar components Experience with IFS or similar business systems To thrive in this role, we believe you are business-minded, driven, and enjoy creating results together with others. ABOUT THE CLIENT COMPANY: The client company is an established international technology firm that develops and manufactures technical products and systems for vital societal operations. The business is characterized by close collaboration between procurement, product development, and other technical functions, where the supplier chain plays an important role throughout the product's lifecycle. Here you'll have the opportunity to work with international suppliers, technical products, and strategic business matters in an organization with many contact points and a strong focus on long-term supplier collaborations. ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT: This is a fixed-term consulting assignment due to parental leave, which means you'll be employed by Friday and work as a consultant at our client. The assignment is planned to run from mid-November 2026 through August 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension.
