About the job The Procurement and Purchasing Administration is in an exciting development phase where we are strengthening our customer focus and advancing our strategic procurement work. The Technology and Property Unit is now seeking a Strategic Procurement Manager with Category Leadership Responsibility, as our current colleague is moving to another role within our administration. As a Strategic Procurement Manager with Category Leadership Responsibility, you will lead and drive the work of developing and implementing group-wide procurement and supplier strategies for the technical consultants category. You will do this together with a team consisting of major procurement professionals in Gothenburg City's departments and companies. You will play a significant role in working strategically with procurement, and for you this will involve considerable development and building of both relationships and strategies and working methods. The working approach is cross-functional and involves collaboration and networking with stakeholders in Gothenburg City as well as the supplier market. You support and coach the organization in methodology and actively work with change management to further develop processes and tools. You are active and attentive in your meetings with the city's departments and in various forums to understand needs within the category and ensure that the municipal group works efficiently and in accordance with set goals and strategies. Over time, the role may also include contract management responsibility. As a contract manager, this includes work with managing and following up on contracts, developing contract strategies, and carrying out work related to procurements. It can also involve working with needs analyses and market research in preparation for procurement, developing procurement documents, conducting bid evaluations, and leading supplier negotiations. You will be part of the Technology and Property Unit. The unit has 13 employees distributed across roles as strategic procurement managers and administrators. About you We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education in areas such as procurement, economics, law, engineering, or equivalent. We also see that you have several years of experience independently managing procurements in the public or private sector. It is advantageous if you have experience with category-driven procurement work or strategic procurement work in a larger organization. We also consider it an advantage if you have experience with project or process management. As a person, you have the drive and perseverance required to lead projects and changes that involve different issues and perspectives ranging from working methods to solutions and deliveries. You are comfortable managing several different ongoing processes simultaneously and can handle this methodically. Your goal is always to achieve good results for the benefit of the entire city, and you understand that this requires both adaptability, communication skills, collaboration skills, and sensitivity to different perspectives. In this role, you have functional leadership for the category, which means you need to feel comfortable taking initiative, leading others, and creating engagement. Since the role involves many contact points, including with suppliers, purchasers, and sometimes politicians and media, you are communicative and enjoy building and maintaining networks as well as speaking to different groups.
