On a rapidly changing energy market, we face both challenges and opportunities. With a sharp increase in electricity demand, opportunities arise for new development, while we develop Vattenfall's existing assets. Fleet Development is a staff unit within BA Generation responsible for strategic work, optimization of our (production) assets, monitoring and support to our business units, and business development. This includes, for example, conducting analyses, strategy development, driving strategic processes and driving various business and development opportunities. We also monitor BA Generation's targets and progress, track external issues and conduct benchmarks. Furthermore, the head of Fleet Development holds the position of Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO) with responsibility for ensuring nuclear safety perspectives, and within Fleet Development there are supporting resources linked to this role. About the Role As Strategic Advisor Back-End, you will be part of a team of skilled and committed colleagues. The role offers great variety in tasks and many contact points, significant influence opportunities and an international perspective in several respects. Strategic Advisor Back-End is responsible for leading, developing, analyzing and coordinating BA Generation's work on back-end (waste management, decommissioning and final disposal) from a holistic perspective. The role supports management by producing strategic analyses, decision-making materials and recommendations, and ensures coordination between internal functions, including Business Units, and external stakeholders. The position operates at strategic and tactical levels, with a focus on governance, stakeholder dialogue, contract issues, regulatory matters and development of long-term solutions, and contributes to optimizing the entire value chain from waste production to final disposal. Examples of Your Work Tasks: Lead, coordinate or participate in strategic investigations and initiatives within BA Generation with a focus on waste management, decommissioning and final disposal Be Fleet's representative to the waste and decommissioning operations and in that role analyze, evaluate and support progress within prioritized strategic areas, and report development and improvement suggestions to the head of BA Generation Represent BA Generation in forums and steering groups linked to the operation's prioritized strategic areas and major projects, and within the waste and decommissioning area. Evaluate business risks and economic consequences of strategic initiatives, investments and contract solutions, and develop business cases and decision-making materials that support the operation's long-term development and cost-efficiency. Contribute with a holistic perspective to find solutions and collaboration within the waste and decommissioning area that optimizes the value chain from waste production to final disposal Requirement Specification We are looking for someone who is curious and analytical, and who through dialogue and collaboration understands different perspectives to produce well-balanced recommendations for Vattenfall's benefit. You find it easy to build relationships and networks, are driven by creating results and act with high integrity. You are clear and engaging in your communication and you thrive in an environment where things happen and where you can contribute to progress. You find solutions, even when the path forward is not obvious, and take responsibility for your deliverables while actively finding out what you need to know. With a strategic perspective, you have the ability to see both the big picture and details, weigh long-term consequences and handle several parallel tasks with structure and flexibility. You are educated as a civil engineer or business economist or alternatively have equivalent work experience and education. Previous work experience from the energy industry, preferably within nuclear power. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written You have good structure around your work, good IT skills and experience working with various tools for, for example, analysis, forecasting and monitoring It is a merit if you have knowledge of the nuclear waste final disposal system.
