The Role of Strategist - Social Sustainability There are significant differences in living conditions among the region's inhabitants, which is clearly visible in factors such as education level, employment, and health. The region's inhabitants should have the opportunity to feel included, contribute, and have equal access to society's resources and opportunities, regardless of background or where in the region they live. For socially sustainable development, it is crucial to reduce intra-regional differences by improving living conditions for our inhabitants. Therefore, we are seeking a strategist who can develop and drive work on social sustainability based on the regional development mandate. As a strategist for social sustainability, you will be part of coordinating, developing, and following up on social sustainability work based on the Regional Development Strategy, and serve as a resource to support and develop work within Region Jönköping County's Sustainability Program. In this role, you will build up and develop working methods in collaboration with other actors, both operations within Region Jönköping County and external actors in the region. You will have both an advisory and supportive function in the long-term work of further integrating social sustainability into Region Jönköping County's operations and work. This includes work with national minorities, collaboration around Agenda 2030 and human rights, gender equality, and national and regional political goals and mandates. The position also includes conducting analyses and preparing knowledge and decision-making documentation, and work tasks may develop over time based on the employee's experience and knowledge. The position is full-time with a start date by agreement. The Regional Development department coordinates and leads work on regional development based on both state and regional mandates. We work together with many actors in Jönköping County for a good life in an attractive region. Your Profile We are seeking someone with several years of experience working with social sustainability. We see that you have an academic degree or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have a strong ability to see the bigger picture and to follow social development, and you thrive in a coordinating role. You have the ability to make broad assignments concrete and create clarity for both external and internal collaboration partners. You have a communicative approach and experience presenting, communicating, and engaging with different tools in various types of forums, both in speech and in writing, in both Swedish and English. Additional language skills are meritorious. To succeed in this role, we see that you have a talent for creating and developing good collaborations and relationships, and for leading development work in a structured and trustworthy manner. You need to have a good understanding of working in a politically-led organization and good knowledge of the division of responsibilities between different social actors. It can be meritorious if you have worked with, or otherwise acquired good knowledge of, the regional development responsibility.
