About the Operation The Culture and Education Committee (KBN) has the overall mission to conduct broad, accessible, and high-quality cultural and educational activities throughout Dalarna. We work in a complex network of collaborative partners—internally and externally, locally, regionally, and nationally. Through dialogue and collaboration, we develop activities that strengthen the region's cultural and educational life. We are seeking a strategy officer who wants to help develop and strengthen culture's role for children, youth, and older adults across the entire region. The position involves strategic and coordinating work within the culture and education sector, with a focus on participation, accessibility, and sustainable regional development. You will be part of a team of three strategy officers within the Promotion and Strategy unit, where you collectively drive development initiatives, share experiences, and contribute diverse expertise. The work occurs in close collaboration with colleagues, management, other leaders, and operations within the department. In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and follow up on regional initiatives for children's and youth culture, as well as culture for older adults, in accordance with the region's culture and education plan. The assignment aims to create equal opportunities to participate in and engage with culture, regardless of where you live in the region or where you are in life, and to develop culture's role in a health-promoting and inclusive society. You work in a changing context where needs and conditions evolve over time, which may also affect the assignment's content. The work provides freedom to plan and implement initiatives within your area of responsibility. The position requires physical presence at the workplace in Falun; remote work arrangements are not applicable. The assignment covers all of Dalarna and involves travel within and outside the region. Interviews are planned for August 18 and September 2 and 3. Duties As a strategy officer, you will, among other things: - Promote equitable and accessible cultural activities for children, youth, and older adults throughout the region, with focus on participation, influence, and opportunities for creative expression. - Develop and coordinate regional cultural offerings, networks, and initiatives for prioritized target groups, for example within the Creative School program and municipal cultural schools. - Initiate and drive the development of culture for older adults in Dalarna by strengthening collaboration, developing methods, and creating sustainable regional structures for this area. - Create and develop sustainable collaboration structures between municipalities, cultural actors, and other regional operations. - Conduct environmental monitoring, identify development needs, and translate policy documents and development work into practical operations. - Follow up, evaluate, and develop work within your area of operation through analyses, reporting, and decision-making materials. - Handle matters, participate in political preparations, and where necessary, present matters. - Promote collaboration between culture, education, public health, and other societal areas. Qualifications Requirements: - Academic education with relevant specialization, - Experience working with strategic development issues, - Experience in process management and collaboration work, - Experience leading others in leadership positions, - Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish, - Category B driver's license. Meritorious: - Documented knowledge of children's rights, - Experience working in a politically governed organization, - Knowledge of cultural policy governance and multi-level governance, - Documented knowledge of the cultural collaboration model, - Experience working within culture, education, public health, or civil society sectors, as well as with issues concerning children and youth or older adults. You have good analytical ability and can translate ideas and strategies into practical execution.
