String Instrument Teacher at Älmhult Cultural School

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a string instrument teacher with us, you will teach students of various ages violin, cello, and double bass both individually and in groups, and will help lead and develop our ensemble and orchestra activities. You see ensemble playing as a natural tool in learning and work to strengthen students' collaboration, musicality, and participation. You participate in concerts, performances, and various projects together with students and colleagues, and become an important part of the cultural school's continued development and work. With us, you meet children and young people in their musical development. You teach students individually and in groups, with instruction adapted to age, level, and individual circumstances. The work is characterized by significant personal responsibility and good opportunities to plan and develop your teaching based on students' needs and your own ideas and strengths. The position also includes responsibility for rental, management, and care of the cultural school's string instruments. Teaching in our core activities is mainly conducted in the early afternoon and evening. Teaching can also take place in part at one of the schools in the municipality. Teaching can take place in both Swedish and English. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with pedagogical education or other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good experience with string instruction for children and young people. You enjoy working with people of different ages and have good experience with group instruction and ensemble playing. As a person, you are flexible and quality-conscious and work well with others. You want to help create enthusiasm, security, and engagement in students and help build a positive and developing work climate together with your colleagues. You have the ability to create and maintain good communication and collaboration with students and guardians, and to provide feedback on student development in a clear and professional manner. You collaborate well with colleagues within the cultural school and participate in joint planning, projects, and concerts. You are expected to be engaged in the development of the activities, both pedagogically and artistically, and contribute to a safe, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment.
