Support Educator for LSS Residential Facilities

Ref: 20261803 Job Responsibilities As a support educator, you will implement work methods and practices in the facility. Your responsibilities include building relationships, providing support, mentoring, and assisting users in various daily situations, maintaining social contacts and relationships. You will also have a central role in the operation where you collaborate with care educators, lead team meetings, and serve an important function within the team working toward individual goals according to a pedagogical structure. All support measures, such as activities, cleaning, laundry, meals, personal support, and physical care, are based on each user's individual needs and preferences in accordance with LSS legislation and Malmö's LSS plan and values. Your work should promote independence, participation, and be carried out with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. You work systematically with social documentation. You collaborate with your colleagues and other stakeholders and work with users based on their implementation plans and action plans that you develop together with them. You participate in finding solutions and methods that develop the work. You work to increase the pedagogical approach that supports each individual's participation and self-determination. The assignment also includes handling medications and care work. The position includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. Qualifications We seek someone with post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits. The education should have a clear focus on disability services and/or behavioral sciences. Additional post-secondary education in the disability field is meritorious. We seek someone with experience working with people in LSS facilities and who feels comfortable meeting individuals with various needs. You have experience with care work and have previously worked with this target group. For several of our facilities, it is also important that you have knowledge and experience handling situations involving threats and violence and work according to low-arousal approaches. Knowledge of explicit pedagogy, such as AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) or similar methods, is meritorious. Experience with low-arousal approaches is also advantageous. Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have delegated healthcare duties, such as medication management, insulin administration, or tube feeding. You have good computer skills and can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. A B-category driver's license is meritorious. You have a pedagogical approach, are quality-conscious, thorough, and committed to meeting the goals and intentions of the LSS law. To thrive in your professional role, you should have good self-awareness and a positive attitude. Furthermore, you are creative and want to help develop our facility. You can work both as part of a team and independently and take your own initiative. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. About the Workplace The facility is for Malmö residents who have been granted housing according to LSS. Users have varying needs, interests, and preferences. Services and activities are driven by need and are provided individually to the user or together with other users in groups. All facilities are part of Unit 1 within LSS Housing and are residences for persons in category 1. The facilities are located in Kroksbäck, Limhamn, and Bunkeflostrand.
