Responsibilities Would you like to make a difference for the children at Kålhagens Children's Residential Home? If so, you might be the support educator we're looking for. We are a close-knit and professional work team that collaborates with each other and other stakeholders for the best development. We put our residents first. Their needs and wishes form the foundation of our work. Two children with NPF diagnosis live with us. The children have extensive needs for educational support and personal care. In this role, you are expected to quality-assure the operations with a focus on proven working methods and procedures in accordance with laws and guidelines. It's also important that you can inspire the work team to learn and develop by motivating and engaging them. You are part of a team with support assistants and a unit manager and collaborate with a nurse. Much collaboration also occurs with other professionals and family members. As a support educator, you support our residents in daily life, including providing care, managing medications following delegation, and maintaining social documentation. You are also responsible for the documentation process, method development, and quality improvement at the unit. As a support educator, you maintain ongoing contact and collaboration with other support educators and method developers in the administration. The work schedule includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. As a support educator, you allocate part of your time for educational work. The remaining time is spent providing services in the operation. We use Timecare Planning for activity-adapted and flexible schedules. Qualifications For the position of support educator, post-secondary specialization in the disability services field is required, comprising at least 200 vocational credits or 60 university credits, or a combination equivalent to at least two full-time semesters of study. The education should have a clear focus on the disability services field in its entirety, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered a language test through the testing provider Educateit. You need to have work experience working with people who have physical and mental disabilities and be well familiar with AAC (augmentative and alternative communication). It is advantageous if you have previously worked with children and youth with disabilities. It is also advantageous if you have previously worked with Timecare Planning and hold a driver's license (Category B). We are looking for someone who is attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions. You have a good understanding of how individuals learn and their different circumstances. You adapt your communication style to your audience and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. Further, you collaborate well with others by listening, showing interest and respect. You understand the shared mission and work to make it as good as possible. Finally, you are motivated by learning new things and developing. You come up with new ideas yourself and take initiative for improvements. You actively monitor developments in your field and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your operations.
