Ref: 20261762 Job Responsibilities As a support pedagogue, your responsibilities are to support, activate, and mentor the individuals in their daily life at either the residential care home or short-term care facility, depending on where you are employed. Together with other staff, you are responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating activities. The overarching goal is to keep the user's needs at the center and to continuously adapt the content so that it is meaningful for them. You help create conditions for the users' stay through activities and opportunities for social contact. As a support pedagogue, it is your task to fulfill the goals in the LSS plan regarding self-determination, participation, and integrity for each individual user. You carry out daily support and planned interventions based on the user's individual needs and wishes in accordance with LSS. Examples of tools for this include creating implementation plans, other documentation, and evidence-based methods. You should contribute to creating a meaningful and safe stay where activities are shaped according to the users' specific strengths, interests, and needs. Care work is part of the role. Qualifications We are looking for someone with post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits. The education should have a clear focus on disability services and/or behavioral sciences. To be suitable for the position, we want you to have at least 1 year of experience working within LSS. You also have at least 1 year of experience working with people with autism and/or intellectual disabilities. We consider it a merit if you have previous experience with social documentation and MarteMeo. If you have also worked with children with disabilities, challenging behavior, or AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), that is an asset. You have good computer skills and can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. A valid B-category driver's license for manual transmission is required. Swimming proficiency is a merit. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. In this position, you will support children and young people with disabilities who show high sensitivity, and therefore requires high demands on your attentiveness to their needs for well-being. You should thus have a calm approach and understand challenging behavior. About the Workplace The residential care home serves children and young people who have been granted permanent housing under LSS §9:8. All users have an autism diagnosis, and challenging behavior occurs in daily work. Users have varying needs, interests, and wishes. Support and activities are guided by need and carried out individually with each user or together with other users in a group. In the Disability Services Department, just over 3,000 employees work together to create and develop even better support and services for people with disabilities. Our operations are within LSS, social psychiatry, personal assistance, companions, relief staff, and healthcare. We also serve severely ill children cared for at home.
