Activity Description The Functional Support Department provides support and services to children, young people, and adults with disabilities. We work based on LSS and the Social Services Act to strengthen individuals' independence, security, and participation. The department encompasses day activities, housing with special services, supported housing, short-term housing for children, leisure activities, relief and companion services, and personal assistance. The Functional Support Department makes a real difference in people's everyday lives and creates the conditions for an independent and meaningful life. Duties Solkatten implements two services: short-term supervision/leisure for school-age youth from the calendar year the individual turns 13, and short-term stays. Children and young people are entitled to short-term supervision/leisure before and after school, during school breaks, study days, and longer holidays such as summer vacation. Short-term stays offer individuals an environmental change, meaningful activities individually and in groups, and relief for relatives. Solkatten's short-term stays and supervision work with individuals who have support measures according to LSS. Your role as a support pedagogue is to, based on each individual's needs/conditions/interests, work through appropriate support, guidance, and pedagogy to develop the ability and opportunity for independence and participation in society. You are responsible for pedagogical planning in consultation with other staff and the unit manager. The position includes collaboration and experience exchange with other support pedagogues within LSS to develop pedagogical approaches/methods. Qualifications You have education as a support pedagogue, special educator, leisure pedagogue, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience within the LSS activity area is meritorious. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality. You are a stable and secure person who remains calm and acts in a low-key manner in challenging situations. You are a predictable point in the individual's everyday life and meet them where they are. We place great importance on you being flexible, cooperative, and concerned with maintaining good relationships with colleagues, relatives, and guardians. Personal suitability is heavily weighted. You must be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. The activity includes planning and conducting activities together with users. Work tasks may involve participating in activities of varying character. B-driver's license and an extract from the criminal record register are required. Working Hours/Duration Permanent employment 100%. Work schedule includes days/evenings/weekends. Probationary employment may apply.
