Department Description The Functional Support Department offers support and services to children, youth, and adults with disabilities. We work based on the Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) and the Social Services Act to strengthen individuals' independence, security, and participation. The department includes day activities, housing with special services, supported housing, support and service housing, short-term housing for children, leisure activities, respite care and escort services, and personal assistance. The Functional Support Department makes a real difference in people's daily lives and creates the conditions for an independent and meaningful life. Responsibilities At Rosen's day activity center, users receive services according to LSS. As an educator, you work based on each individual's needs, circumstances, and interests. Through properly designed support, guidance, and pedagogical methods, you motivate users to develop their independence and become more involved in society. You are responsible for pedagogical planning in consultation with your colleagues and unit manager. The position also includes collaborating and exchanging experiences with other educators within LSS to develop our methods and approaches. Care for the users is a natural part of your daily work. Qualifications You have education as a support educator, special educator, leisure educator, or another qualification that the employer deems equivalent. Experience within LSS is a merit. You are a stable and trustworthy person who remains calm and acts with low affect in challenging situations. You are a predictable presence in individuals' daily lives and meet them where they are. We place great importance on you being flexible, cooperative, and committed to good relationships with colleagues, family members, and guardians. You must be able to express yourself well in speaking and writing in Swedish. The activities include physical activities with users, and you must therefore have basic physical ability and an interest in planning and performing activities. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Under the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality. Valid driver's license and a criminal record check are required.
