We are now recruiting a support educator for the residential service facility Pimpinellagatan in northeastern Gothenburg! About the Position Pimpinellagatan is a BmSS (residential facility with special services) located in Angered. We have eight residents living in their own apartments in a two-story house. At Pimpinellagatan, support needs vary and may include ADHD, autism, and autism spectrum diagnoses combined with other difficulties such as severe self-injurious behavior and suicide risk, comorbidity, personality disorders, and learning difficulties. We work to support our residents in their daily lives based on their individual needs and preferences. As a support educator, you hold overall responsibility for the educational work within the facility. You will work with methods and approaches, ensuring they are used and developed effectively. You will also mentor colleagues on professional ethical dilemmas and educational approaches. Together with the team, you will establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and support descriptions. You ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are created, further developed, and followed in accordance with laws and guidelines. As a support educator, you are a knowledge resource in the work team. You act as support and guidance for each individual staff member, the team, and also provide support to the unit manager. Together with your colleagues, you play a central role in the facility's quality development and systematic improvement work. You will participate in networks with other educators and collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other key persons to ensure residents receive good care, support, and service. Your working hours will be scheduled within the facility, and you will also perform care services and tasks related to self-care and delegation, such as medical, rehabilitative, and habilitative services. We offer you a varied and stimulating position with significant responsibility. Work is scheduled during daytime hours, with occasional evenings and weekends. Qualifications For the position of support educator, you must have post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 VET credits, 120 higher education credits, or 60 higher education credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The education must include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You must have strong ability to express yourself orally and in writing, as you independently prepare documentation according to IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus) and other social documentation. Therefore, approved grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent are required. If you lack this, you may be offered a language test via Educateit. We seek someone with at least 2 years of experience as a support educator and experience working with people with neuropsychiatric conditions, intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, severe self-injurious behavior, and suicide risk. Documented knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Independent Living Skills (ILS) is meriting. Experience with SIP (Coordinated Individual Plan) and with issues of consent, coercion, and restrictions is also meriting.
