We are now recruiting a support pedagogue for our unit providing short-term residential care and supervision for children and young people with disabilities. Our short-term services offer after-school and holiday activities as well as respite care for families during evenings and weekends in the form of short-term homes. Children and young people of different ages and with various disabilities spend time with us. After the summer, we will be moving to brand new facilities in Öjersjö. The assignment involves contributing to a safe and high-quality stay based on applicable legislation, decisions, and implementation plans. As a support pedagogue, you are responsible for implementing and developing methods and working practices in the activity. You take initiative in developing action plans and new routines based on individual needs, and you support and guide colleagues in day-to-day work. You have overall responsibility for AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) and social documentation, and you keep yourself updated on working methods within LSS. You actively work for an ethical approach that promotes self-determination, participation, and integrity. You work in close collaboration with the unit manager, and work tasks may vary based on competence and interest. You are part of a network of support pedagogues with opportunities for experience exchange and coaching from methodology developers. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. Qualifications We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in the disability field comprising at least 200 YH points or 60 higher education credits or equivalent, such as support pedagogue, social worker, or social pedagogue. Additionally, you need to have worked in a leadership, supervisory, or similar role previously. You have good knowledge of social documentation, evidence-based methods, and AAC. Previous experience working with children is a merit. A driver's license is required for this position. Since short-term residential care is a dynamic operation, you need to be flexible as a person, enjoy challenges, and be solution-focused. You need to enjoy working at a fast pace and be quick to adapt when new operational needs arise. You also have well-developed pedagogical skills with a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and the different conditions people face. You adapt your way of communicating to your audience. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Selection will be handled on an ongoing basis, so submit your application today! Good to Know To be called for an interview, you must be able to present a passing grade in Swedish 1 at upper secondary level or equivalent. If this is not available, you will be asked to take a digital language test. Upon offered employment, an acceptable extract from the Police Register of Offences and the Police Register of Suspects must be presented. For this position, the extract covers work with children with disabilities.
