About the Job New Kabelgatan is a residential facility with special services focused on psychiatry. We have eight residents living with us. The residents have various types of disabilities such as different psychotic disorders, high-functioning autism, and intellectual disabilities. The work may involve challenging behaviors. As a support pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the educational work at the facility. You will establish work methods and approaches and ensure that these are used and developed effectively. In your role as a support pedagogue, you serve as support and guidance for each individual team member and the work group. You support and mentor your colleagues in the daily work with residents and their individual needs. Together with your colleagues, you have a central role in the facility's quality development and systematic improvement work. You ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are created, further developed, and followed in accordance with laws and guidelines. You also collaborate with family members, guardians, and day activities to ensure residents receive good care, support, and service. You are also part of a network within the Center area with other support pedagogues and have a method developer to support your work on quality and methods. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts. Weekends may occur. About You You are trained as a support or social pedagogue, or have other relevant post-secondary education in the disability field (minimum 200 vocational credits, 120 credits, or equivalent to four terms of full-time studies). Alternatively, 60 credits plus at least two years of experience working with support/services for people with disabilities. The education must include relevant courses in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and/or psychiatric care. Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit. You have experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI), ESL (an independent life), and low-arousal approaches (LAB). You have experience with the psychiatric client group. You are calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. You communicate information and ideas clearly both orally and in writing. You adapt your communication style to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You ensure that work is completed on time and follow up on results.
