About the Role
Working as a support educator at Halltorpsvägen means being part of daily activities and supporting children and young people. The role also includes taking responsibility for pedagogical matters in the operation and guiding colleagues in various methods and approaches in daily work. At Halltorpsvägen there are additional support educators and you will together form a team where you will have an important role in development work. Beyond the team at the facility, there is also collaboration with other educators in the children and youth field. To thrive in this role, you need to enjoy juggling multiple tasks.
The placement will be at Halltorpsvägen but in the "Children and Youth Services" area within functional support, where several short-term, residential, and leisure activities are included. This means there is an established collaboration that may involve work in other facilities.
Examples of tasks:
work with perspectives at both individual and group levels
guide and support colleagues regarding professional ethical dilemmas and pedagogical approaches using reflection as a working method
support children, young people, and young adults based on goals and approved measures, adapting activities according to one or more service users' needs
plan, implement, evaluate, and analyze working methods and approaches in the work group
work in activity systems and document
participate in network meetings, for example SAMBA/SIP
About the Workplace
Halltorpsvägen 144-146 and 148-150 are two facilities located side by side in Adolfsberg. The facilities are located near green areas and a bus stop.
The Social Services Department's functional support area provides support and services to people with physical and mental disabilities according to the Act on Support and Services for People with Certain Disabilities (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL).

Qualifications:
In this role, you need to have the ability to meet service users in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. It is important that you collaborate well with other people and relate to your colleagues in a responsive and flexible way. You have a positive view of humanity with great respect for each person's individual needs. You have a high understanding of how people acquire knowledge and people's different circumstances. You also need to have a good ability to structure your own work and be able to provide feedback and describe the results of it. You are someone who is good at taking your own initiative and often coming up with ideas and new approaches to work-related matters. You master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with service users and other staff. Furthermore, you have good computer skills and can document in writing what the operation requires.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
vocational higher education degree as a support educator, treatment assistant, treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, or activation pedagogue, or alternatively 60 credits in relevant subjects (such as pedagogy, disability studies, psychology, behavioral science, social work, or equivalent)
at least two years of experience in the functional support field
Meritorious:
experience working with children
experience and/or training in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)
experience mentoring staff
experience with social documentation
Class B driver's license
swimming
cycling
