Support Educator and Support Assistant at the Group Home Höjden

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a support educator or support assistant, you will support adults with disabilities in managing their daily lives and participating in society. The target group consists of individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities combined with challenging behavior. This requires working preventatively and with low-key responses, as well as maintaining close collaboration among colleagues and following established procedures to create the right conditions for staff and residents. As a support educator, you will also have a mentoring function toward your colleagues. You will work with developmental issues, collaboration, areas of responsibility, and monitor what is happening in the field, while being part of the operations. You will also work closely with the unit manager, colleagues, and other services. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, night shifts, and weekends. There is an opportunity to work in other facilities as part of the position includes pool hours. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily looking for you if you are a trained support educator or have another post-secondary education that the employer finds relevant for the position. You are a positive person who is solution-focused, one step ahead, and takes initiative in development processes. You are creative and can develop and implement pedagogical methods within the work team. We are also looking for a support assistant with training as a nursing assistant with certification of protected professional title or equivalent education that the employer finds relevant for the position. Previous experience working with people with disabilities, low-key communication approaches, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) is a merit for both positions. You have good digital skills and express yourself easily in speech and writing. ABOUT THE WORKPLACE A group home is a residential form for people with extensive supervision and care needs where continuous staff presence is necessary. A group home consists of a number of apartments adjoining common areas. Höjden is a small group home with three apartments.
