YOUR ROLE As a Support Educator, you play an important role in developing and ensuring the quality of educational work. You combine daily work close to the residents with an expanded responsibility to support colleagues, contribute your specialist expertise, and create a shared understanding of work methods and approach. Together, you will work to ensure that each individual receives support based on their needs, circumstances, and goals. Together with a specialist nursing assistant, you will be a key person in the work of strengthening quality, developing work methods, and creating good conditions for both residents and colleagues. Since the role is new, we are looking for someone who enjoys taking initiative, putting ideas into practice, and driving the organization forward together with others. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE We are looking for someone with post-secondary education of at least 200 VET credits or 60 higher education credits in the field of disability support. You have experience working with people with disabilities and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You can document in a legally secure manner and have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. The work also requires that you have the physical prerequisites that the assignment entails. It is a merit if you have experience mentoring colleagues, students, or interns, as well as knowledge of educational methods, for example clarifying pedagogy and alternative communication methods. To succeed in the role, you work in a structured and goal-oriented manner. You are confident in your professional role, take responsibility for your assessments, and have an easy time creating good cooperation. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, listen to others' perspectives, and contribute to an open and unpretentious work environment where you together find the best solutions. Skellefteå Municipality is part of the Finnish and Sámi administrative area. Language skills in Finnish and Sámi, as well as cultural competence in these areas, are therefore merits. YOUR NEW WORKPLACE Klockarbergsvägen 56 is a group home where six people currently live, all over 60 years old, with varying support needs in their daily lives. Here we work to create a safe, meaningful, and individually adapted daily life where each person is given the conditions to live as independently and richly as possible. The home is centrally located and offers a pleasant outdoor environment with a patio, pergola, garden, and grill area that are used as a natural part of everyday life. You will become part of a work team with a total of ten employees. Right now we are investing in strengthening the organization with new specialist roles that contribute to quality, development, and close cooperation in the work group. As a Support Educator, you will be an important part of this investment. Here you will have the opportunity to influence work methods, contribute your specialist expertise, and together with your colleagues lay the foundation for how the organization develops moving forward. GOOD TO KNOW The position involves work during days, evenings, and every other weekend. Prior to a possible employment, you will need to provide a current police certificate from the Police Authority for work in the home with elderly people or people with disabilities.
