Support Assistant/Support Person at HVB Home within the Disability Services Sector

Do you want to make a real difference in a child's everyday life? We are now seeking two support assistants/support persons for our HVB home, where you will become an important part of a dedicated and competent team. Together, you will work to create safety, development, and good conditions for a child with special needs. You will become part of a work group consisting of 11 employees who together create a warm, inclusive, and developmental environment for both the child and each other. The child lives in their own apartment with a staff apartment in close proximity. The work involves varying working hours scheduled for day, evening, overnight on-call, and every other weekend. You will work according to a fixed rotating 8-week schedule. We offer two permanent positions, where 80 percent of one position's scope is allocated to this activity, and the remaining 20 percent you will work at other workplaces within the Disability Services Sector. Start date by agreement. Your New Job As a support assistant/support person, you provide individually tailored support to the child, both at home and outside. Your mission is to create safety, participation, and opportunities for as independent and meaningful a life as possible. The child has extensive care needs and requires supervision around the clock. The work is always carried out by two staff members simultaneously. Tasks include support with care, hygiene, and assistance with tube feeding. An important part of the work is providing social and educational support. We use among other things sign language as alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to strengthen the child's communication and participation. In our work, we also apply a sense of coherence (KASAM)-inspired approach, where we focus on creating comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness in the child's everyday life. During daytime, you will accompany the child to school and help create conditions for a functioning and developmental school experience. The child is a happy, curious, and active person with many interests. Swimming, horseback riding, go-kart racing, sitski, and other leisure activities are a natural part of everyday life. Therefore, we are looking for someone with an open mind, who is creative and sees possibilities. You enjoy finding new activities and are inspired by the idea that nothing is impossible. If you have a musical interest or play an instrument, that's a plus, as the child has a great interest in singing and music. The role may also involve travel related to medical appointments, day trips, and vacation trips. The role also includes ongoing collaboration with social services, schools, habilitation, healthcare, and other care providers involved with the child. Communication and cooperation with the child's family is an important part of the work to create safety, continuity, and a shared understanding of the child's needs and development. The work also includes ongoing documentation in the journal system Viva to ensure good quality. To give you a safe start, we offer a thorough introduction together with experienced colleagues. You will have access to customized introductory materials and training provided by the employer, which creates good conditions for both you and the child to feel secure in daily life. Internal and external collaboration on matters concerning the child. Documentation in our journal system Viva. Your Competence Requirements Upper secondary education. Preferably with a focus on healthcare, pedagogy, or social work. Good Swedish in both spoken, written, and reading comprehension. Meritorious Experience working with children with disabilities. Experience working in healthcare. Experience working with AAC. Good computer skills. Driver's license.
