Sala Municipality is seeking two committed staff members for a short-term residential care facility for children and young people under the LSS Act. As a staff member, you are an important person in our guests' everyday lives and contribute to them having a meaningful and enriching stay. About the Workplace Our short-term residential care facility serves children and young people who need support, care, and the opportunity for environmental change. The stay can provide respite for families while giving the child or young person a chance to develop independence, try new activities, and build social connections. We work based on each individual's needs, circumstances, and wishes. Our goal is for everyone to feel safe, seen, and included. Work Tasks As a staff member with us, no two days are the same. Your tasks may include: - Providing individually tailored support and care in daily life - Creating safety, structure, and predictability - Planning and carrying out activities based on the children's and young people's interests - Supporting communication, participation, and independence - Assisting with personal care when needed - Collaborating with colleagues, guardians, and other stakeholders - Documenting and following up on interventions according to facility procedures - Contributing to developing the operation and creating a positive environment - Being flexible and working at other care facilities to complete your hours We work with low-arousal approaches and with a respectful and educational attitude. We base our work on the individual's strengths and focus on possibilities rather than limitations. Qualifications We're looking for someone who is confident, committed, and has a genuine interest in working with children and young people with disabilities. You need to be able to meet each individual with respect, patience, and attentiveness. You are responsible, flexible, and work well with others. You can also remain calm when situations change and are willing to think creatively to find solutions that work for the individual. You must have: - Training as a nursing assistant, childcare worker, support assistant, educator, or other relevant education - Experience working within LSS, short-term care, personal assistance, or similar - Experience working with children and young people with disabilities - B-class driver's license for manual vehicles and ability to cycle It is advantageous if you have: - Experience with low-arousal approaches, clarifying pedagogy, and knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) Great weight is given to personal suitability.
