We are looking for you to work as a support assistant at our unit within short-term supervision and respite care. Do you want to support our users toward a meaningful and active life? About the Role and Responsibilities We are seeking a support assistant for our units providing short-term supervision and respite care for children, youth, and young adults. The position is scheduled every other weekend plus some days/evenings during the week, with an employment rate of 50%. Duration until January 27, 2010. At our short-term supervision and respite care units, we work to support our users in their daily lives with care, leisure, and cultural activities. The current unit serves children under 13 years old with autism and other functional variations. Your responsibilities also include creating and designing implementation plans, as well as documenting and contributing to maintaining high quality in our operations. We are looking for someone who is positive, innovative, and has the ability to see individuals' development and potential. Great emphasis is placed on your experience with this target group and your knowledge of low-arousal approaches. About Us Respite care allows people with disabilities the opportunity for a change of environment, while providing relief to their relatives. We serve both children and adults, and our users are offered respite stays both during the week and on weekends. The stay provides users the opportunity for environmental change, stimulation, and social community with others, and can also be good training for those who wish to move away from home. Short-term supervision is for people with disabilities who no longer have the right to after-school care but who still have a need for it. Supervision is offered before and after school, as well as during holidays and study days, and is available to people from age 13 until they finish high school. Short-term supervision offers relaxing and active leisure activities that provide both physical and mental stimulation, where users have the opportunity to socialize with other young people under adult supervision. Qualifications Approved grades from a healthcare and nursing program, children and leisure program, social science/behavior program, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. Experience working in activities with people with autism and/or other functional variations. Knowledge of low-arousal approach work. Experience working with structured pedagogy. It is a requirement that you can and are willing to cycle. A driver's license is a merit. Recruitment Process We work with continuous selection and begin our recruitment with team interviews. Final interviews will be held in weeks 39 and 40.
