Our group homes under LSS with an autism focus are characterized by professionalism, commitment, and care. As an employee at an autism unit, you will have the opportunity to develop and receive competence development that is both theoretical and practical within intellectual disability, autism, clarifying pedagogy, AAC, and low-affect interaction.
We are now seeking people who want to strengthen the staff teams at three of our group homes under LSS with an autism and ID focus. Each group home has three to five apartments and 10-17 employees who work to create a meaningful everyday life for the people living there.
Job Duties
At our autism homes, you will meet people who think and experience the world in a unique way. Your task is to create clarity, security, and a meaningful everyday life for these people. You support the person in all everyday situations such as communication, leisure interests, cooking, personal hygiene, and household management. During a work shift, you work independently providing support to one person in his or her apartment. To make everyday life predictable, understandable, manageable, and meaningful for each individual, we work with clarifying pedagogy, AAC, and low-affect interaction.
Your role also includes planning, evaluating, and improving support for the individuals. This includes, among other things, participating in the development of implementation plans, writing and updating job descriptions, and ongoing documentation.
In your work, you collaborate with the user's network such as guardians and family members. You will work with nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. Delegated health and medical care services and health and medical care documentation are part of your responsibilities.
Qualifications
To succeed in the position as a support assistant, you have a Children and Leisure, Care and Health program or other educational training that the employer deems equivalent. The position requires that you have experience with LSS operations or adapted primary school, and people with autism.
Very meritorious is knowledge of and experience with AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), clarifying pedagogy, and low-affect interaction. You need to be confident and secure in your role as a support assistant and have the ability to remain calm in difficult situations. Patience, attentiveness, and interest in understanding how others think and perceive the world are fundamental to working in autism units.
You are comfortable working in a structured and systematic manner and following the routines and decisions that exist to achieve goals. Where others see obstacles, you see opportunities and are solution-focused. You want to provide support in a way that strengthens people's independence and security.
Great emphasis is placed on the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You have computer skills as documentation and administration in a computer environment are part of the role.
Driver's license category B is required because we use a car in the position.
