We are expanding our operations and are therefore seeking engaged support assistants who want to help shape our facilities together with us. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a safe, developmental, and professional environment – both for the children and young people we work with and for your colleagues.
We are recruiting for two units: Ånestadsgatan 156 in Smedby, an established facility, and Vägstumpen 1 in Svärtinge – a new unit starting in autumn 2026. You will be part of one of the units, where you become an important part of creating a strong and well-functioning team.
Our facilities have seven residential places in total. Children and young people with various disabilities, backgrounds, and individual needs live in our facilities. The organization has a high staff-to-resident ratio and we have staffing around the clock with both awake night shifts and on-call sleeping shifts.
With us, the children and young people are always at the center, where we work purposefully to promote their independence and create a safe and adapted residential environment based on their individual needs and conditions.
Your tasks
Work in the facility is based on each individual's implementation plan. Our goal is to work so that each individual becomes as independent and secure as possible to develop according to their abilities. You provide individually adapted interventions and maintain a professional approach.
Together with the rest of the personnel group, consisting of support assistants and support pedagogues, you form a team around the individuals living here. As an employee with us, you have a significant role in our team to create security and quality of life for our residents in their home.
You are part of the close individual work that involves following our children and young people in their daily lives. The tasks include everything that occurs in a home environment where the individual's needs determine the work. The work involves contact with many stakeholders both internally and externally. This is important to maintain holistic work around each individual since the children and young people live permanently with us.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is a support assistant or has equivalent training focused on disabilities, with experience and competence in working in facilities for people with disabilities or other relevant training deemed equivalent.
Experience and knowledge of working with people with various types of challenging behavior such as physical and verbal outbursts and self-harm is a requirement. We particularly appreciate experience and knowledge of socially destructive behavior as it occurs within our target groups.
We also see that you need to have experience with visual teaching methods, low-arousal interaction, and neuropsychiatry. We view positively previous experience and work with children and young people within LSS as well as work with special diagnoses such as PWS and within NPF, and knowledge of trauma and crisis management.
Desirable qualifications include knowledge of sign language or sign support and/or experience with other forms of AAC.
You have a high level of organization and a holistic perspective while maintaining a well-grounded approach related to user and family-related issues within the LSS target group. It is important that you can collaborate and work based on decisions made in the organization. We consider that you take initiative and strive to create good relationships and achieve results to be important competencies.
Being a good role model for our children and young people as well as your colleagues is self-evident to you. You are responsive and adapt your communication to the person you meet, which also means you have high self-awareness where you are conscious of your feelings and actions and how this affects your work situations.
Night shift work requires that you are comfortable working independently. You see what needs to be done and take initiative in your daily work, which includes being able to implement and develop new ideas and methods. You are flexible and can adjust your approach and adapt yourself when the situation requires it. You find it easy to prioritize and find solutions in different situations. You are experienced in working with risk assessments and can see both the big picture and details.
As a person, you are calm and secure with a positive attitude and a commitment to our target group. You see possibilities from a professional perspective and want to contribute to developing the organization based on the goals that exist.
You have good computer skills and can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
A B-category driver's license is desirable.
