Responsibilities As a support assistant, you work alongside your colleagues to create a safe, developmental, and meaningful daily life for the children. You work based on the children's individual implementation plans and help create structure, participation, and independence based on each child's circumstances. You participate in team meetings and methodology meetings. You ensure fidelity to methods by following routines and work practices. Our special education teachers coach and supervise the work team in the pedagogical work, and you contribute observations and feedback to your special education teachers. With your experience, you are a role model in using evidence-based methods and practices to foster independence in children. You will be scheduled for daytime, evenings, and weekends. Full-time is 38:25 hours per week. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a support assistant certification, a Child and Recreation Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work, a Care and Health Program with specialization in the program focus on disability, or nursing assistant certification. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent, such as specialization in the disability field with at least 200 vocational upper secondary credits or higher education in relevant areas such as social work. You must also have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. We are looking for someone with qualified experience of at least two years working with children and young people within LSS. You also need knowledge of PEG, trach, or similar. We also see that you have knowledge and experience of working with low-arousal approaches (LAB), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and visual supports pedagogy. Knowledge of PDA (pathological demand avoidance) is an asset where you serve as a role model in pedagogical work. We are looking for someone who easily adapts your approach and sees opportunities in change. You are motivated by clear goals, follow up on work, and ensure that interventions lead toward desired results. You have a good ability to create security in challenging situations and stand by your decisions. At the same time, you communicate clearly and can handle challenging situations professionally. We also see that you listen to others and adapt your approach. Through your manner, you contribute to good relationships and positive collaboration.
