Kompassgatan is a group home for people with intellectual disabilities, with capacity for six residents, located in the beautiful natural setting of Tavleliden. All residents have their own apartment and receive support and assistance from staff based on their individual needs. The home is an environment where people are met with respect and compassion and given the opportunity to develop at their own pace. We are now recruiting a Support Assistant! Your responsibilities You will guide and support people with intellectual disabilities in their daily lives. You will provide individual, social, and practical support to enable and utilize residents' own abilities, thereby creating conditions for independence. You will work to ensure that residents are actively involved in their daily lives and have meaningful leisure time and/or activities. Your work includes personal care, practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. You will also participate in leisure activities such as cinema visits, walks, and exercise. We require good physical condition as the job involves considerable movement—accompanying residents to, for example, group exercise, cycling, and floorball. Work hours include days, evenings, weekends, and on-call duty. Joint planning occurs between our services within Disability Care Services. About you As a person, you are confident, curious, and engaged. You have good collaboration skills and a professional approach toward residents, colleagues, and other networks around our residents. It is important that you share our values, work toward established goals, continuously improve, and take responsibility for our shared work environment. Personal suitability will be given significant weight. Requirements: - Trained nursing assistant, social worker, or other education the employer considers equivalent - Experience working in care, e.g., in LSS housing or elderly care - Strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, to communicate with residents and their families, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation Meritorious: - Experience with diabetes, e.g., administering insulin We welcome your application!
