Support Assistant at DV Paletten – with expertise in music or media

About the position Are you a support assistant with a strong focus on service users? Do you have expertise in music and media and share our belief that collaboration and cooperation deliver the best results for those we serve? Then we're looking for you! The operation has a broad focus with various activities in the creative area, such as ceramics, music, media, different textile work, woodworking/hobby, drama/theater, and much more. We also have a small shop where we sell our crafts. We're looking for someone with knowledge and experience in planning, leading, and developing activities within music and media. In music, this could include producing music and working with recordings, playing individually or together in an ensemble, participating in concerts and other performances based on demand and participants' interests. In media, you work primarily with individually adapted tasks in areas such as photography, writing, and digital production. You also participate in the production and publishing of Palettbladet as well as other digital content. As a support assistant, you work to create conditions for a meaningful daily life and promote participants' independence and involvement. With us, you work with people who have various intellectual disabilities. Work shifts are scheduled during daytime hours, Monday to Friday. About you We're looking for someone with a degree from the Care and Social Services program, support assistant training, or Children and Youth Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The education requirement is also met if you have post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 vocational credits, 120 higher education credits, or a combination equivalent to at least four full-time study terms. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You need relevant education in music and media, and/or documented experience that the employer deems equivalent in both areas. At least 2 years of work experience in the disability field is also required for the position, as well as good computer skills, knowledge, and experience in creating and following up implementation plans and social documentation. To be able to conduct documentation, you need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which requires passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you don't meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered a language test through test provider Educateit. It's a merit if you also have skills in our other focus areas. We also value experience with autism. It's desirable if you have knowledge of the following methods: LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), Visual Supports Pedagogy, Sign Supports, IBIC (Individual Centered Needs), MI (Motivational Interviewing), and Welfare Technology.
