Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, releases and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life. Ordinary housing is organized within Disability Care Services and includes short-term supervision, short-term residential care, respite services, home care, and a National Upper Secondary School for children and youth. We also offer daily activities/occupational programs, residential support, and dependency resource teams for adults over 18 years old. Kandidatvägen is a short-term residential facility according to the LSS law, located at Ålidhem with forest areas, playgrounds, and a library nearby. The purpose of the service is to offer youth and young adults with physical and psychological disabilities a change of environment, community, and the opportunity to develop their independence while relieving family members. Here you will work with individualized support where every interaction matters, and where you, together with committed colleagues, contribute to creating a meaningful and secure everyday life for our young people. Now we're looking for you to work nights with us! Your Responsibilities At Kandidatvägen, you work to strengthen the youth's ability to live as independently and meaningfully as possible. The work is varied and includes both social support and practical assistance based on individual needs. As a night staff member, you are responsible for supervision and care of the youth during nighttime hours and perform ongoing tasks such as cleaning and basic maintenance. The position also includes administrative tasks and documentation in accordance with the facility's procedures. To perform all work tasks, you need to be in good physical condition as patient transfers may occur. You must be prepared to handle situations involving challenging behavior. You collaborate with colleagues and maintain professional conduct towards service users, family members, and other stakeholders. Cooperation and joint planning with other support and care services occurs. Work is scheduled for nighttime hours, weekdays, and weekends. Who Are You? We're looking for someone who is calm, confident, and engaged with the youth as your focus. You have good collaboration skills and professional conduct. You are stress-resilient and handle challenging situations with composure, even when faced with challenging behaviors. Furthermore, you are flexible and solution-focused, with the ability to adapt and create a meaningful everyday life for the youth. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. Requirements - Education as a nursing assistant, social worker, preschool teacher, or other education that the employer deems equivalent - Experience in care work - Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to communicate with service users, family members, and colleagues, and to document according to facility procedures Merits - Experience working with children and youth with disabilities - Experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) - Experience with Low-Arousal Approach (LAB) Other Information By law, all persons working in facilities with children and youth under 18 years of age must present a valid police certificate of conduct at the time of employment.
