Stockholm District Court is Sweden's largest district court with approximately 300 employees. The court is divided into five adjudicating divisions and one administrative division. Divisions 1–4 are general divisions that handle criminal cases, civil cases, and other matters. Division 5 is the Patent and Market Court, which is responsible for the areas of intellectual property law, marketing law, and competition law. The adjudicating divisions employ judges, patent advisors, court clerks, court prosecutors, legal researchers, and court administrators. The court also has a specialized unit for handling civil cases, a so-called fast track for civil matters. The administrative division is responsible for finance, IT, HR, registration, archives, library, communications, security, service, and facilities management.

Your Role
Together with an engaged team of administrators, you will help ensure that cases and matters are handled fairly and efficiently. In addition to your team members, you will collaborate with judges, court clerks, and legal researchers who handle the division's criminal cases, civil cases, and other matters. The work is varied, social, and requires both structure and flexibility – perfect for you if you thrive in a dynamic environment. The position is a permanent employment that may begin with a six-month probationary period.
Work Tasks
As a court administrator, you will handle multiple cases and matters in parallel in a challenging and fast-paced environment. The majority of administration is conducted in digital systems and via telephone and email. Your work tasks are administrative and include:
Preparing new cases
Registering received documents
Planning and scheduling hearings
Appointing public defenders/victim support representatives
Having daily contact with parties, representatives, authorities, and the public via telephone and email
Expediting judgments and decisions
Opportunity to record proceedings during court hearings
Qualifications
Completed and approved upper secondary education
At least one year of experience in administrative work
Experience in service-oriented work
Very good knowledge of the Office package, primarily Outlook and Word
Good computer skills
Good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written
Advantageous
Experience in administrative work in a court or other government agency
Experience in a fast-paced environment
Paralegal training
Good knowledge of English
