Sterilization Technician/Assistant Nurse for the Sterilization Department

We are now seeking a dedicated team member for our sterilization department at Gävle Hospital who is passionate about their work and wants to continue developing with us. We have a retirement opening that needs to be filled. We are ISO-certified and provide our customers with complete, clean, and sterile reusable instruments. Our team consists of approximately 20 employees with expertise as sterilization technicians and assistant nurses. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES In the sterilization department, we clean, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and other medical equipment used in operations and medical care to the hospital's departments, clinics, health centers, and private healthcare facilities in the region. The sterilization department is a modern and well-equipped unit that constantly works to maintain high quality and complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards for sterilization. As a member of our team, you play an important role in the surgical workflow by ensuring that medical-technical products such as instruments and equipment belonging to the sterilization department are properly maintained. You ensure traceability and promote increased patient safety. The work requires that you can work independently as well as in a team-based manner, and that you are attentive, stable, and show the willingness and ability to help others. You have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently and can independently drive your work forward. We see that you are a responsive person who enjoys collaboration and communicates well with others. You appreciate flexible work in an environment with varying work pace. As a sterilization technician/assistant nurse with us, you should • be a trained sterilization technician, alternatively complete your degree in the near future, or be a trained assistant nurse. For this position, it is advantageous if you have professional experience from a sterilization department. Interviews are held on a rolling basis. This means you will need a certificate from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse in healthcare and elderly care. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and elderly care, but under a different title than assistant nurse. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted. Type of employment: Permanent position.
