JOB DUTIES The Sterile Processing Department at Carlanderska is located in newly built, bright, and modern facilities and is an important part of the surgical workflow. Workstations are designed with great focus on ergonomics and efficient processes. The surgical department performs approximately 7,000 surgeries annually within various specialties, providing great variation in material handling at the sterile processing department. Work in the sterile processing department is characterized by an efficient approach, where staff members take great responsibility for the whole and solve challenges through good teamwork in a group that currently consists of 10 people. We are now looking for a sterile technician who wants to work with us in the sterile processing department at Carlanderska. With us, you will experience variety in your work, development opportunities, and good collaboration with both the surgical department and internal customers in the hospital. The work is divided into six different workstations, where you will learn to master all areas over time. Thanks to the traceability system T-doc, work can be logged and communicated with other units. The sterile processing department maintains high service levels and handles both hospital-owned instruments and loaned instruments. We ensure we stay ahead through daily planning by following ongoing and upcoming surgeries in the surgical planning program Orbit. This allows us to be prepared to receive soiled instruments after surgeries and provide sterile instruments at the right time for upcoming operations. The sterile processing department is located in close proximity to the surgical department and has daily communication with surgical staff, which has resulted in good collaboration and a pleasant work environment. Work in the sterile processing department occurs at high pace with great focus on communication, both within the unit and with the surgical department and other units. The team has high competence and advanced technical equipment, which provides the best opportunities for both reliable operation and quick adjustments when needed. This is a permanent position with a start date by agreement. We use a trial employment period. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is a trained sterile technician with at least one year of experience working in a sterile processing department in a hospital environment, or alternatively a trained nursing assistant with at least 3 years of experience working in sterile processing and surgical operations. It is important to us that you have good knowledge of the conditions that apply in sterile and surgical operations, where fast workflows, high service levels, and efficiency are top priorities. You have high energy, are flexible, and like to find solutions when unexpected situations arise. Work at certain workstations may be physically demanding.
