Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region Municipal Association, which is a forum for collaboration and experience exchange, as well as several other municipal collaborations. The Chancellery is a central unit within the municipality and is organizationally placed within the Administration and Digitalization function. The Chancellery has ten employees with various specialist competencies, including two municipal attorneys with a municipality-wide mandate. Since one of our colleagues is now on parental leave, we are seeking a substitute municipal attorney who wants to contribute to the municipality's continued development and legally secure work. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a substitute municipal attorney in Stenungsund Municipality, you will have the opportunity to work with legally significant public matters. The work is exciting, developmental, and makes a difference for the municipality's residents. You will have a varied and broad role where you work with legal advice and investigations within the municipality's various operational areas. The main areas of law consist of municipal law, administrative law, and public access and confidentiality. Special legislation and civil law areas such as tort law and contract law are also relevant for the position. You will support managers and employees with legal assessments, monitor legal developments, and take initiatives needed to ensure the municipality stays current with applicable legislation. You will present matters for political bodies and support our elected officials in legal matters when needed. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking you with a law degree and preferably several years of experience from a municipality or other public authority. You have a good understanding of how it is to work in a politically governed organization and enjoy having an advisory and supportive role. You have good knowledge of public law and the ability to quickly become familiar with areas in which you have no prior experience. Notarial service is meritorious, as is experience from contract negotiations. You are analytical, thorough, and have the ability to communicate legal matters in a pedagogical and accessible way, both orally and in writing. You care about correct and precise language. You collaborate with many different professional groups to ensure a holistic perspective and efficiency in the municipality's work. You have the ability to adapt your response and suggest different courses of action based on the inquirer's needs. This requires curiosity and an interest in understanding the operational situation in matters that may be of different character. As a person, you are structured, unpretentious, and work effectively both independently and in groups. You take initiative to safeguard the municipality's interests and have a good ability to prioritize. You have good judgment and act with high integrity. We believe you can switch between the practical and formal sides of law and that you understand and appreciate the importance of good service and good conduct. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Employment form: Fixed-term employment. Duration: Start date: Start is desired in mid-December. End date: 2027-08-31.
