The Department of Biomedicine conducts research and education in preclinical and clinical medical subjects. The department is divided into the following four divisions: infectious diseases, microbiology and immunology, medicinal chemistry and cell biology, and laboratory medicine. The department currently has approximately 315 employees and approximately 450 Mkr in revenue. Job Responsibilities The position holder will support a small research group with statistical model selection and statistical analysis. The research group studies plasma membrane organization in T-cell signaling and antiviral treatment, interactions of antivirals, and develops image analysis methods. The tasks include experimental design and evaluation of factorial experiments, linear and hierarchical models. The work requires broad methodological knowledge, and the tasks include introducing new team members to fundamental statistical methods. Qualifications Applicants must be a statistician. Applicants should master methods such as analysis of variance, regression analysis, generalized linear models, statistical experimental design, and hierarchical models. Furthermore, applicants need experience designing and evaluating full and reduced factorial experiments. We are looking for a person who is methodical and structured. Programming skills in R and SPSS are required. Previous experience with research collaborations in cell biology and/or microbiology is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability as well as communication and collaboration skills. Employment The position is part-time at 20% and limited-term for 11 months at the Department of Biomedicine. Start date by agreement.
