About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you get to make a real difference for both society and the energy transition? With us, you are part of a socially critical operation with exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and colleagues who value one another.
We are now seeking several experienced Station Technicians who want to help build the maintenance operations of the future!
We are facing one of Vattenfall Electricity Distribution's largest initiatives ever—a historic effort to build a stronger, more resilient, and entirely self-sufficient capacity within maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. At a time when the world is placing ever-higher demands on robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to ensure an electricity grid that can handle difficult conditions and deliver when needed most.
Responsibilities and Work Tasks
As a Station Technician, you have a central role in ensuring that our power installations from 0.4 to 400 kV are safe, accessible, and equipped for the energy needs of the future. In this role, you get varied and practical fieldwork, where you combine advanced technical problem-solving with careful digital documentation. Together with colleagues in operations, maintenance, and projects, you contribute to an electricity grid with high operational reliability and quality, where your technical expertise makes a real difference in everyday life, both for our installations and for society.
Your main work tasks include:
Performing service, operations, maintenance, construction, and troubleshooting in stations and power installations
Conducting rounds, inspections, and checks according to established maintenance programs and reporting deviations
Working according to ESA, EBR, and applicable safety procedures, and participating in risk assessments and work planning
Performing maintenance, repairs, and switching on switchgear equipment, such as transformers, breakers, disconnectors, tap changers, battery systems, as well as thermography and grounding resistance testing, etc.
Small reconstructions and fault remediation may be part of the role
Documenting completed work and managing work orders in our digital systems
Contributing to the development of work methods and procedures for increased safety and quality
The role places great emphasis on safety, quality, progress, and commitment. Safety is our guiding star in everything we do—in a high-risk environment, we look after each other and create security together.
The work is performed on behalf of the maintenance manager. Travel within the area and on-call duty may be a natural part of the assignment.
Job Requirements
We are looking for someone with good technical understanding, strong safety awareness, and interest in working with complex power installations. You are organized, thorough, and take responsibility for both quality and safety in your work.
We would like you to have:
High school education in electrical power/electricity or equivalent vocational training
Experience as a station technician, power technician, distribution electrician, industrial electrician, or similar
Fluent Swedish, both spoken and written
Class B driver's license.
It is a merit if you have good ability to read technical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation, as well as basic understanding of control, protection, and monitoring systems.
