WORK TASKS As City Architect for Kalmar Municipality, you have a strategic and unifying role throughout the entire urban development process, from early stages to implementation, and you work closely with both internal and external stakeholders. You: • are a driving force in formulating and developing the municipality's vision for the physical environment. Based on the vision, you set the direction for urban development and describe in an inspiring and concrete way what values and qualities we want to create. You clarify the municipality's ambitions early in processes, for example at the start of detailed planning and land allocation, to create consensus about the site's development. • hold together and develop the entirety of the built environment, the spaces between buildings, green areas, and the public realm. • ensure that designed living environment and architectural quality are a natural part of the municipality's development of the physical environment, for example through dialogues in internal and external forums and development of working methods within the urban development process. • are active in early stages to shape the right conditions from the start, for example through participation in strategic planning, commissioning, and dialogues with various external stakeholders who develop Kalmar. • provide qualified advice in planning and building permit matters. • provide qualified advice on implementation matters, for example in municipal property projects. QUALIFICATIONS The City Architect is organizationally placed at the Municipal Management Office in the Urban Development division and reports directly to the Urban Development Manager. The division is responsible for land and exploitation, strategy and sustainability, and growth and business. In your role as City Architect, you will be part of the management group for the core process Plan and develop a more attractive society with higher quality of life. You will daily cooperate and to a large extent work together with the Urban Development Office, primarily the planning and building permit operations. The role's influence is based on the ability to build trust and establish good relationships with civil servants and elected representatives. You appreciate working together with others and actively contribute to an open, unpretentious, and solution-oriented collaborative climate. You are available and maintain good dialogue with the operations and other stakeholders. You participate in the Municipal Board's planning committee and in the Urban Development Committee meetings, including its presidium meetings, as you are a link between elected representatives, civil servants, and external stakeholders. You contribute with an in-depth understanding of how good designed living environment and architecture create added value. We are looking for you who • are an educated architect with broad professional experience in the urban development sector. • have a good ability to assess and develop architectural and design qualities at different scale levels, with an understanding of how the whole impacts the details and how the details impact the whole. • are pedagogical and attentive as well as inspiring and clear in dialogue with others. • have the ability to build trust and drive matters together with others. • are unpretentious and comfortable in a role where collaboration is essential. • have a driver's license class B Salary form: Monthly salary.
