About the Unit
163. Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, Garrison Company, and Training Company, which together create the conditions for assigned units to focus on executing their primary mission. The Battalion's role and tasks are developing rapidly to meet the new challenges facing Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces.
This position will be located at the Battalion staff but will work closely with leadership and companies. The staff, like the Battalion, consists of all aspects of the military profession: officers, soldiers, and civilians. Together we develop the Battalion to meet the tasks assigned to us regarding support to assigned units, mobilization, host nation support, and training.
The Battalion Staff is seeking officers for positions in both PLAN and GEN functions.
Primary Duties
As an officer on the staff, you are an important point of contact for tasks from higher command and maintain close contact with the Squadron staff departments. Depending on whether you work with implementation tasks with shorter timelines or planning tasks on a longer-term basis, you will have different primary duties but will always serve as a general staff resource supporting where it is most needed at any given time.
Examples of duties:
Execute task assignment, coordination, and follow-up with subordinate companies
Create conditions for subordinates to execute assigned activities
Lead and conduct preparations
Lead planning work and planning tasks within the Battalion in areas such as mobilization, host nation support, war planning, and training
Lead ongoing operations within the Battalion
Create reports for operational prioritization within ongoing activities
Training coordination
Contribute to a shared situational picture both within the Battalion and across the unit.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
SO6-7 or OF1-2
Current experience working daily with various IT systems
Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
Class B driver's license (manual transmission)

Current experience working in a staff function

Employment Type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Work Location: Uppsala. F 16 also has operations at other locations, which may involve occasional business travel.
Working Hours: Primarily daytime. Evening and weekend duty may occur during operations, activities, or as needed.
