The Legal Department of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency is seeking a chief of staff for the department's management office with placement in Stockholm.
Responsibilities and Tasks
The department's staff function shall create conditions for effective governance and management of the department. As chief of staff, you are responsible for contributing to the development of the department's operations, coordinating and driving department-wide or agency-wide assignments, and providing strategic advisory support to the department head and department management. In addition to focusing on your own department, you always maintain a perspective of the entire agency, and the work is conducted in collaboration with colleagues in other departments.
You are responsible for contributing to the agency's long-term goals and the department's shared direction. You ensure that internal governance and control within the department meet the requirements placed on the operations. You lead a team of 13 qualified employees who together with you form the staff function of the department. You also collaborate closely with managers in other departments within the agency. You create understanding of context, direction, and the objectives the department has set, and you develop the plans your operations need. You have operational responsibility, budget responsibility, and personnel responsibility.
The role requires excellent ability to translate strategic goals into operational work. Through active dialogue about purpose, goals, and strategies, you create conditions for your employees to take significant responsibility for results and development. You have an active role in driving collaboration issues from a broader societal perspective together with others within the agency and with other authorities and actors. The role includes participating in the legal work of the department and taking responsibility for developing the legal digitalization work.
As chief of staff, you are part of the department's management group and your direct supervisor is the department head.

A permanent position, full-time, with start date by agreement. Probation may be applicable. Some positions with us involve participation in security-sensitive operations.
