The Neurosurgery Clinic in Linköping is one of the operations within Sensory Center in Östergötland. The catchment area is the Southeastern healthcare region with over one million inhabitants. The operation is conducted as inpatient and outpatient care. We treat patients with tumors, hemorrhages, vascular malformations, trauma, spinal diseases, hydrocephalus, various pain conditions, movement disorders, epilepsy, and other diseases of the central nervous system.

Job Description
The Neurosurgery Clinic at University Hospital in Linköping offers a position for specialist training in neurosurgery. Evening and night on-call duties and teaching of medical students and other healthcare personnel are included in the duties.
The training is goal-oriented and shall lead to specialist competence in neurosurgery in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations on doctors' specialist training and recommendations from the Swedish Neurosurgical Society, in consultation between the ST doctor, supervisor, ST study director, and operations manager. The ST doctor participates in on-call work and research opportunities are available.
Work Group
The Neurosurgery Clinic consists of a care unit; ward 71 including post-operative ward and NIMA (intermediate care unit), and an intensive care unit; NIVA, and has approximately 200 employees. As an ST doctor, you will work on all included units as well as in the operating room.
About You
You are a licensed doctor. Previous clinical service in neurosurgery is a requirement. You should have broad interest in neurosurgery including neuro-intensive care. Experience in and interest for research and teaching are merits.
Since you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other operations, it is a requirement that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
Great importance is placed on your personal qualities. As a person, you work well in collaboration, you should have the ability and interest in multidisciplinary teamwork. You work and communicate well under stress. You are flexible and demonstrate personal maturity and good judgment.
