We are now looking for a vehicle mechanic for the Vehicle Workshop at SSAB, where you will work close to operations with maintenance and repair of some of our most important vehicles and machinery. About the Position The Vehicle Workshop is responsible for maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles and machinery that are an important part of daily operations. Here we work close to operations with both preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure high availability and operational reliability. As a vehicle mechanic with us, you will have varied and practical work where you work with troubleshooting, service, repairs, and maintenance of, among other things, dump trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, forklifts, and trucks. The work includes both mechanical and technical tasks where you will have the opportunity to use and develop your expertise in several areas. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues where you become part of an engaged team where cooperation, problem-solving, and safety are in focus. Working hours are K2 shift. Your Main Areas of Responsibility • Perform troubleshooting, service, repairs, and maintenance on heavy vehicles and machinery • Work with both preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure operational reliability and availability • Plan and prepare work together with the department's planner • Collaborate with operations and other functions to carry out work in a safe and efficient manner • Contribute to improvement work and development of working methods within the workshop About You • We are looking for you who have vocational training in vehicle technology with a focus on heavy vehicles or equivalent documented experience • You have a genuine interest in technology and enjoy working practically with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs • You work responsibly, carefully, and have a strong safety mindset in your daily work • You are service-oriented, unpretentious, and find it easy to collaborate with both colleagues and other contacts in the operation • You have the ability to work both independently and together with others in a team • It is a merit if you have experience or expertise in, for example, vehicle electrics, hydraulics, pneumatics, diagnostics, welding, or work in maintenance systems such as IFS • B-class driver's license is a requirement • You have good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing Our Offer We offer a wide range of appreciated benefits to our employees.
