The Employment Unit in Oskarshamn Municipality works to create opportunities for municipal residents who are outside the job market or lack financial independence to move forward. The role of language development specialist is new and aims to strengthen language development work within the Employment Unit. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS As a language development specialist, you have an important mission to support individuals whose native language is not Swedish in their path toward employment or studies. You work both directly with participants and on developing language-focused approaches in the organization. The goal is to strengthen participants' language skills, work capacity, independence, and opportunities for financial independence. The role includes, among other things: • leading language groups and other activities with a focus on language development • providing participants with feedback on oral and written communication • coaching colleagues and external supervisors in language-focused pedagogy • developing materials and methods that integrate language – speaking, reading, and writing – in practical work tasks • collaborating with SFI and other educational actors • engaging in dialogue with employers about language requirements and possible adjustments • following up on and documenting participants' language progression • participating in follow-up and planning meetings. The work is based on participants' individual action plans according to the BIP method and takes place in close collaboration with supervisors, employment case managers, and other colleagues within the unit. The role is varied and suits you if you want to combine teaching, pedagogical development work, collaboration, and individual-focused support. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in people and the ability to see and leverage individuals' strengths and potential. You are comfortable meeting people from different backgrounds and have a professional, clear, and respectful approach. As a person, you are pedagogical, structured, and clear in your communication. You have the ability to adapt methods and level based on your target audience and create a safe and learning environment. You are relationship-building, attentive, and independent, while also having good collaboration skills and wanting to contribute to developing the organization's approaches. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. For the position, you must have: • education in Swedish as a second language, teacher education, or pedagogy • experience working with Swedish as a second language • experience working with adult participants • knowledge of language-focused approaches • excellent skills in Swedish, both spoken and written • computer proficiency and knowledge of the Office package • a Category B driver's license. It is meritorious if you have education in employment or integration, knowledge of the BIP model, experience from employment initiatives or employment units, knowledge of different industries and labor market requirements, and experience collaborating with authorities and employers. It is also meritorious if you have experience with visual supports or knowledge of languages other than Swedish. Employment type: Permanent position.
