Your Assignment In your role as special education teacher/specialist, you have comprehensive special education responsibilities at Myrsjö Resource School. You have a coordinating role regarding organization, documentation, intake, and special education support. With your expertise, you contribute to maximizing learning for students within the autism spectrum. You support and implement special education measures, both individually and in small groups, and also teach through targeted support interventions. With confidence and commitment, you mentor colleagues and work teams in special education matters. You stay updated on current research in special education and share your theoretical knowledge and pedagogical expertise. You are responsible for pedagogical conferences and work systematically with documentation, follow-up, and assessment of students' needs for special support. You develop intervention programs and pedagogical assessments and lead meetings with students and guardians to inform about and discuss selected interventions. The assignment also includes collaboration regarding students' needs with other actors, both within and outside the school. The work takes place in close collaboration with school leadership, teachers, special education teachers, student assistants, and the student support team. You are part of the school's well-functioning student support team consisting of school nurse, counselor, psychologist, school leader, and special education teacher. Together you work across professions with promoting, preventive, and intervention measures based on students' needs. Your Experience For this position, you must have: - Teaching certification with authorization to teach in primary school - A special education teacher or specialist teacher degree - Experience working as a special education teacher or specialist teacher - Experience working as a teacher - Good knowledge of and experience working with students within the autism spectrum or other neuropsychiatric conditions - Experience working in a resource school, special education group, or similar setting - Experience mentoring educators - Knowledge of and experience documenting support measures and assessing needs, such as pedagogical mapping and intervention programs - Good digital competence with experience using digital pedagogical tools - Strong ability to communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing It is a merit if you also have: - Experience with coordinating responsibilities - Experience leading pedagogical conferences, training, workshops, or similar - Relevant education or courses in autism spectrum - Knowledge of and experience working from a clarifying pedagogy and positive behavior support perspective Is This You? What We Offer Myrsjö Resource School is an operation for students within the autism spectrum who need education in an adapted learning environment with small groups and high staff density. The school has high expertise in autism spectrum, including in school leadership. We work based on the primary school curriculum and adapt the pedagogical, social, and physical learning environment according to each student's conditions and needs. The school started in fall 2023 and currently has approximately 30 students in grades 1-9. Our local area offers excellent opportunities for teaching with forest, water, and nature all around. Each week we have pedagogical conferences with all staff, and sometimes special education supervision from the central Child and Student Health Service. As a special education teacher/specialist, you get a central, varied, and responsible role with great opportunity to influence and drive the development of the operation together with school leadership and colleagues. You work closely with the assistant principal and help shape both working methods and structures. Although much is already in place, we want to continue developing. You receive support from the central Child and Student Health Service in the form of specialist knowledge, systems, equipment, mentoring, and training.
