Slottskolan is an F-6 school with 515 students located in central Eskilstuna, within walking distance of the travel center. We are close to the city park, city library, art museum, Munktellstaden, Volvo CE arena, playgrounds, and green spaces. Slottskolan is situated on historic ground and housed in one of Eskilstuna's oldest school buildings, renovated to modern standards. The school's students are organized in age-homogeneous classes and the after-school programs are located near each other. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a special education teacher, you have a central role leading and developing the school's student welfare work together with school leadership. Your assignment includes both investigative and operational development work, with a special focus on preventive and health-promoting measures. You contribute to ensuring that students in need of special support receive individualized, inclusive treatment and measures that lead to increased goal achievement.
You work closely with teaching teams to identify students in need of extra adaptations or special support measures, which are primarily provided within regular instruction. Together with teaching staff, students, and guardians, you follow up and evaluate the work.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a special education degree or who is in the final phase of the program. It is a merit if you have worked as a special education teacher. We would like to see experience with pedagogical documentation, such as assessments, pedagogical evaluations, and development of intervention plans. Experience mentoring and supporting colleagues in special education work is also an advantage.
You have strong analytical abilities and can identify needs and implement them in developmental measures. You are organized, take personal responsibility, and have the ability to plan and prioritize your work. Since the assignment involves close collaboration with educators, student services, and guardians, you are communicative and skilled at building trusting relationships. You thrive with collaboration, mentoring, and supporting others while being able to work independently and drive processes forward.
