Learn more at http://www.sjoangsskolan.stockholm.se Job Description We are looking for an experienced special education teacher with overall responsibility for grades 4-7. As a special education teacher at Sjöängsskolan, you will work both with administration regarding special support and coaching of colleagues, and participate in meetings with guardians and other external partners. In addition, you will also work practically providing support interventions to students and teaching individually, in groups, and in regular instructional settings. In your role as a special education teacher, you will work together with teachers and student welfare staff to provide students with the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development. This is so they can develop as far as possible according to education goals, based on their own circumstances. In your work, you are expected to, among other things, suggest interventions and adjustments for students in need and participate in creating assessments and intervention plans as well as follow-up and evaluation of these. The role also includes teaching small groups and providing individual support to students. You will work closely with the assistant principal, teachers, and other teaching staff in the middle grades and grade 7. You will be part of the school's student welfare system and participate in preventative and health-promoting work so that all students at the school receive adequate support. The work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians. You will lead the middle school student welfare meetings together with the assistant principal. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a teaching credential and a special education teaching degree. You must be qualified in both Swedish and mathematics, and we ask that you specify which grade levels you are qualified in as well as the focus of your special education training. We are looking for someone who takes initiative and can independently plan and implement support interventions for students. You are organized and skilled at prioritizing and following through on your commitments. You have documented experience working as a special education teacher or special education specialist. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Meritorious: You have experience working with students who have Swedish as a second language. You have experience with contacts with, for example, speech pathologists, child psychiatric care, and rehabilitation services. We look forward to reading your application.
