Ref: 20261887 Malmö Magistratsgymnasium is a smaller school that opened in the fall of 2025. We admit students pursuing individual alternatives (IMA) or vocational introduction programs (IMY), and there are also a few positions available for students from other upper secondary schools who temporarily need alternative placement. Job Responsibilities The special education teacher's role is to assist the school with specialized pedagogical expertise at all organizational levels and contribute to school development. The assignment includes working to maintain effective student support services that help students progress toward educational goals. The main responsibilities include: - Assess students' and groups' needs - Analyze the school's work in relation to student learning - Plan, implement, and evaluate interventions - Coordinate work with transitions for students entering and leaving the school - Actively participate in pedagogical research and use and disseminate research findings and methods to strengthen student learning - Mentor and train pedagogical staff and educational assistants - Participate in the school's student support team - Participate in the school's systematic quality improvement work - Participate in the department-wide network for special education improvement initiatives - Document in Prorenata. In our smaller, needs-driven operations, we work closely together with the student's best interests in focus. This means the special education teacher role is conducted with a broad perspective on both the student's and the organization's needs. Qualifications Requirements: - Early childhood education teacher, teacher, or leisure pedagogue degree plus postgraduate training in special education (300 hp) - Experience working with children and youth with functional variations - Experience with external contacts and collaboration with staff, students, guardians, rehabilitation services, child and adolescent psychiatric services, and family services - Good digital skills - Good understanding of school goals and curriculum documents - Strong Swedish proficiency, both spoken and written. Meritorious: - Experience working in upper secondary school introduction programs or primary school special education groups (grades 7-9) - Good experience collaborating with other authorities and participating in various networks. As a special education teacher, you handle complex issues and find sustainable pedagogical solutions. You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your approach to different needs. You are flexible, see opportunities in change, and use new information to develop instruction. Through a relational and inclusive working style, you build trust and collaboration with students, colleagues, and other professionals.
