About the School
Clockwork School Staffing & Recruitment is now supporting Hedängskolan grades 6-9 in the recruitment process for a special education teacher ahead of the fall 2026 term. We are looking for someone with teacher certification and advanced training as a special education teacher, or someone currently pursuing special education teacher training. The position starts at the beginning of the term in August or by agreement, with full-time employment (100%). In this process, you will be directly employed on a temporary contract by Hedängskolan. To carry out this assignment, you must be able to work full-time on-site. We see that you have good knowledge of Swedish language in speech and writing; it is also meritorious if you have experience with documentation in journal systems.
Hedängskolan grades 6-9 is a school with approximately 260 students and approximately 35 employees. The school is located in Storvik with good transportation options by bus and train. In the school's surrounding area there is nature, ski trails, ice rink, swimming facilities, sports field, and a newly built sports hall that are used in the school's activities. On the school grounds there is also a grades K-5 school with which we have good collaboration.
Your Responsibilities
As a special education teacher, you provide support to the schools in Sandviken Municipality and work closely with the assistant principal and other staff. You contribute specialized pedagogical expertise to the educational work and participate in overall planning within the school's learning environment team. The assignment includes work at the individual, group, and organizational level, with a focus on developing structures and methods for support interventions.
Your role includes assessing the learning environment based on children's need for special support and identifying both opportunities and barriers in the operations. You also conduct pedagogical assessments and analyze students' support needs. At the direction of the principal or assistant principal, you follow up on and evaluate the development of learning environments and contribute information for decisions about interventions and measures.
You actively participate in a supportive and preventive student health initiative where the student's best interest is in focus, and you continuously collaborate with the various professions in student health. Furthermore, you contribute to work with special measures and action plans, provide guidance and consultation to staff, and work collegially to develop instruction and strengthen students' knowledge development. You also work to increase the use of alternative learning tools in the operations.
The role includes participation in the municipality's overall value-based and equal treatment work as well as collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including guardians, SPSM, child and family health, and rehabilitation services. You also participate in professional supervision.
