Description
Hagenskolan is an F-6 school with approximately 280 students, beautifully located in the Hagen area with proximity to both sea and nature. We are a PALS school, which means we work with positive reinforcement and clear expectations to create security and study peace. Together with Nya Varvetskolan and Långedragsskolan, we form a shared school campus where we collaborate closely to share experiences and develop our pedagogy. Outdoor education is a natural part of Hagenskolan. Our staff works in teams that together aim to develop students' self-esteem, creativity, curiosity, and desire to learn. The school has an active parent association, HFF.
Job Responsibilities
As a special education teacher with us, you work at the organizational, group, and individual levels to create and develop learning environments that support all students' development toward the school's knowledge goals. At all levels, you work with both promotional, preventive, and intervention measures.
You are part of a student support team where you work together with the school's other professionals—principal, assistant principal, psychologist, counselor, speech-language pathologist, and school nurse—to support and strengthen students' learning and development.
Together with the student support team and other colleagues, you conduct assessments and evaluations to identify and meet students' needs for special support. You also help formulate intervention plans and conduct instruction based on what has been outlined in the intervention programs. Some collaboration with external partners may also occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher with advanced education as a special education teacher. Experience working as a special education teacher is an asset.
You collaborate easily with and mentor teachers to create conditions for each student to develop. We see encouraging participation, openness, and tolerance as self-evident. It is important that you can work independently within guidelines and practices, and that you can recommend measures, document, and participate in decisions.
We also see that you foster a respectful work environment and build good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians alike. You do this by being open and accommodating, and by listening to your surroundings so you can understand their needs.
You also have the ability to remain stable under pressured situations, where you can balance different demands while maintaining a positive attitude. Continuous development of our operations takes place here, so we would like you to contribute new ideas and perspectives on work-related issues and challenge methods, approaches, and thinking.
Welcome to apply!
The position is filled provided it is not taken for internal reasons.
